While the functions of your debit card will stay the same, your bank account number, debit card number and debit card will change. We will provide further updates on your new account, card details and card collection periods as the conversion process moves forward.

 

Debit Cards

  • Will I receive a new debit card?

    Yes. Your new Republic Bank debit card is available for collection now. All current debit cards (including blue cards) will expire on March 31, 2022. Please contact your branch if you have not heard from them already.

  • Will my account number change?

    Yes. Your account number will change. If you have not received your new bank account number via email or from your branch, please contact your branch.

  • Will the debit card/s function differently?

    Your new debit card/s will work in the same way that they do now with the added feature of performing contactless transactions. You can continue to access your account in branch or at any ATM or point of sale terminal where the VISA logo is displayed.

  • Can I use my Republic Bank debit card at other ATMs?

    Yes. Your new Republic Bank Visa Debit card, with chip & contactless technology, can be used at other Bank ATMs. Other bank charges will still be determined by their fee structure and cost.

  • Will my debit card continue to work locally, regionally and internationally?

    Yes. Your debit card will continue to work locally, regionally and internationally. Other bank charges, as defined by the respective banks, will remain in effect whenever you use your debit card at these banks’ machines.

  • Will the expiration period of my debit card change?

    Yes. Your card will now expire 5 years from the date of receipt of the card.

  • What should I do to prepare?

    When you receive your new account and card details, take note so that you can update your employers and any subscription or bill payment services you may use (e.g. Uber, Netflix, Amazon.com, etc.) to avoid delays in payment when the system goes live on April 4, 2022.
    Also, take note of downtimes so that can you withdraw cash for use and make any scheduled online payments beforehand. ATM and services will be unavailable as follows:
    • ATM- from March 30 to March 31
    • Other Services- March 31
